Re: Installed Completed Now where did it go

That has to do with how the file associations are set up in Windows.

Re: Installed Completed Now where did it go

In your ffdl settings/configuration it specifies where it puts the files.

Re: Installing/Downloading

Can't say anything about how they look on the kindle, but PDF files are iffy on my Sony Reader. I avoid them whenever I can.

I think the Kindle is happiest with MOBI files--just tell ffdl to create them.

Re: Calibre tips

I also use tags and series in Calibre to make stories easier to find on my Sony Reader. I generally tag a story with a fandom. If you look at the "delete cover" picture, a couple stories are tagged "Mass Effect." When I have multiple stories by a single author, I use the author's...

Re: Calibre tips

I also use Calibre to reformat the files I've downloaded to look more like what I'd read in a book. Here's how. 1. The first time you add a file to Calibre, delete the cover it generates from the summary page. Use the following picture to find the option on the right click menu. NOTE: This is only n...

Calibre tips

Hey, thought I'd post some Calibre tips that I've found for dealing with fan fiction and the files ffdl creates. One major issue with Calibre and fanfiction is Calibre doesn't understand the concept of books being updated and revised. If you try adding a story with a new chapter, it creates a new en...

Re: Version 0.1.0 published (23. Feb 2011)

Here's my Calibre conversion settings for "Look and Feel." Note I just stick with EPUB--that's what my Sony Reader likes. http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/5619/lookandfeel.jpg I circled the check boxes I find of use. You can make these your defaults through Preferences. Required: 1. Remo...

Re: Downloading

My Sony only came with software to put books on and off the Reader, and boy does the software stink. I hate using it when I'm required to by the public library's DRM. Calibre does not touch DRM in any way, shape or form. I haven't bought any books for my Sony so haven't had to deal with DRM there. I...

Re: Version 0.1.0 published (23. Feb 2011)

OK, got the pictures. Block paragraphing is when there's a blank line between each paragraph and the text is left justified. It's how I write emails, fanfiction, etc. This is block paragraphing. Regular indented paragraphs are what you see if you read a book or the newspaper. Each paragraph is inden...

Re: Downloading

If you're using any format other than HTML, you need to install Calibre. If you're just using the HTML, uncheck the "Use calibre" box. I love Calibre--it's so much better than the default program my Sony came with. I only use the Sony software if I'm borrowing a book from the library becau...
